Planted Solar, a California-based solar deployment platform provider, has secured $12 million in a funding round led by Piva Capital. Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Khosla Ventures, and Team Builder Ventures have also participated in the investment to support scaling of Planted Solar’s integrated platform. Planted Solar has stated that its platform combines digital design software, slope-adaptive hardware, and automated installation tools to reduce delays and project costs. The software generates optimized layouts, energy models, and engineering drawings to streamline workflows across community and commercial-scale installations. Planted Solar’s hardware supports deployment on slopes up to 27%, reducing land use by 50% and steel needs by 70%. Field robotics have been used by Planted Solar to accelerate construction and lower energy costs by up to 30%. Planted Solar is currently active in U.S. community and behind-the-meter projects, and is planning expansion into Asia-Pacific and European markets to support wider adoption.
