Pentagreen Capital, based in Singapore, has provided a $55 million development and construction loan to Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation in the Philippines. The financing supported solar, hybrid solar and battery storage projects totaling up to 2 GW of generation capacity and 760 MWh of storage. It initially covered 610 MW across eight facilities in Pangasinan, Pampanga, Batangas and Negros Occidental, with three Batangas sites hosting BESS systems. The projects added about 914 GWh of renewable energy annually, avoiding an estimated 630,000 tons of CO₂ and powering around 240,000 homes. They also included Citicore’s AgroSolar Initiative, which maintained agricultural land use with crop cultivation beneath panels to support local farmers.
