Pentagreen Capital, a Singapore-based infrastructure financier established by HSBC and Temasek, has recently partnered with British International Investment (BII). The partnership is to launch an $80 million Development and Construction Facility. According to BII, the facility was developed in collaboration with ib vogt Singapore to support utility-scale solar, hybrid, and battery storage projects in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines and Indonesia. The initiative aims to mobilize around $300 million in investment, targeting 260 MW of solar generation and 175 MWh of storage capacity. BII said the first project—a 100 MW solar plant in the Philippines—has received mezzanine financing from the facility alongside senior debt from HSBC. The initial portfolio of projects is expected to generate 400 GWh of electricity annually and avoid approximately 257,000 tons of CO₂ emissions across the region.
