UK's BOOM Power, a renewable energy company, has received development consent for the 400 MW East Yorkshire Solar Farm, classified as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). Located between Gribthorpe, Spaldington, Wressle, and Howden, the project is expected to power 100,000 homes. The DCO application began in 2022, was accepted in December 2023, examined through November 2024, and approved by the Secretary of State in 2025. The design included an Environmental Impact Assessment, buffer zones, hedgerow preservation, and habitat creation for birds near the River Foulness. Public rights of way will be retained, and new permissive paths added. The project will provide local jobs during construction and benefit nearby businesses. BOOM Power partnered with Pelion Green Future for investment.
