Pacific Partnerships has submitted the Environmental Impact Statement for the Cobbora Solar and Battery Energy Storage System to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The document is on public exhibition from 3 September to 1 October 2025. The project is classified as State-significant and included on the Federal Government’s National Renewable Energy Priority List. It is expected to supply electricity for NSW and support the closure of 3 GW of coal capacity. The battery system is designed to improve reliability by storing energy during low demand and releasing it during peak periods or disruptions. Twelve months of specialist studies assessed environmental, economic, and social impacts. Extensive community consultations were conducted in Elong Elong, Dubbo, and Dunedoo to gather feedback and refine project planning.
