OnPath Energy has started construction of the Barnsdale Solar Park in West Yorkshire. The 50-hectare site is located near Leeds, between Kippax and Allerton Bywater. It is expected to supply electricity for around 13,000 homes each year.GOLDBECK SOLAR is supporting panel installation and infrastructure works. Grid connection is scheduled for spring, with energy generation planned by summer. A 106% biodiversity net gain is targeted through meadows, wetlands, and native planting. The project includes a GBP 800,000 community fund for local groups and environmental projects. OnPath Energy completed access works and site preparation before construction began. Leeds City Council and local officials marked the formal start of works. Barnsdale is the company’s first operational solar site. A second project, Common Farm Solar Park in South Yorkshire, is due to begin construction soon.
