UK-based NextEnergy Capital has energised the 60 MW Hatherden solar project in the UK under its NextEnergy UK I (NEUK I) fund. The fund, launched in August 2022 with GBP 733 million (~$ 979.65 million), reached about 95% capital deployment and managed 19 assets nearing 1 GW capacity. Over the past 12 months, NEUK I more than doubled its operational capacity to 380 MW, aiming for 1 GW of solar PV and storage assets. The fund aligned with the Clean Power 2030 initiative targeting 50 GW of solar capacity in the UK by 2030. Around 76% of its portfolio secured long-term offtake agreements, including Contracts for Difference on new projects. Hatherden was the seventh asset energised by NEUK I, with six assets under construction and six more in pre-construction.
