Brazil-based Newave Energia and Newave Capital, supported by Gerdau, has inaugurated the Arinos Solar Park in Minas Gerais with an investment of BRL 1.5 billion. The project has over 720,000 solar panels and an installed capacity of 432 MW, enough to power a city of 350,000 people. Part of the energy is used by Gerdau, while the rest serves around 1,000 companies in Brazil’s free energy market. The facility links industrial demand with open-market supply, offering a model for strategic energy use. Located in southeastern Brazil, Arinos is among the country’s largest solar developments. The project reflects a shift toward decentralized, market-driven renewable energy.
