France-based Verso Energy acquired a 400 MW solar photovoltaic portfolio from Neoen on February 6, 2025. The portfolio included both operational and developing projects, making Verso Energy an electricity producer. Since September 2024, it had managed its electricity production balance. The acquisition expanded its projects, with new construction planned for 2025. As Neoen continued to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio, it also secured 164 MW of solar projects in the CRE tender in France. Verso Energy aimed to develop 1 GW of solar capacity in France by 2027 and planned to use renewable energy for hydrogen and synthetic fuel production.
