PT Mowilex Indonesia, a Southeast Asia’s coatings industry, has installed solar panels at its Cikande factory in Southeast Asia. Over 500 modules are placed on the factory roof and 252 on parking canopies. The system is expected to reduce grid electricity use by around 500 kilowatt-hours annually. This has lowered non-renewable energy use at the site by up to 25 percent. Mowilex installed its first solar panels at its headquarters in 2022. The CikandeSolar project supports Indonesia’s clean energy goals and reduces the company’s operational carbon footprint. Mowilex received its sixth consecutive CarbonNeutral® certification in late 2024. The company stated that solar energy offers a stable and independent power source for its operations in Indonesia.
