Philippines based Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN), through Terra Solar Philippines Inc., has completed the initial grid synchronization of MTerra Solar Phase 1 on 12 February 2026 in Nueva Ecija. This confirmed connection to the Luzon grid in coordination with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines and the Department of Energy. Project partner Actis has participated in the development. By the end of January 2026, the Phase 1 has installed 1,288 MW (DC) of solar capacity and 622 battery storage units. By end-February, 250 MW (AC) of solar and 112.5 MWh of storage are scheduled to begin operations, with 85 MW of steady power planned for export to the grid. Delivered in under 15 months from groundbreaking, the project supports Meralco’s Power Supply Agreement and is projected to supply up to 10% of Luzon’s electricity demand once fully operational.
