Spain-based Matrix Renewables, global renewable energy platform, has secured €40 million (~$41.31 million) in financing from UniCredit to build six solar PV plants in Sicily, Campania, and Lombardia, with a total capacity of 40 MW. Construction started in September 2024, and operations were set to begin early 2025. The project was expected to supply energy to 27,500 households annually and reduce CO2 emissions by 24,500 tons per year. Around 67 jobs were created during construction. This was Matrix Renewables’ first financing in Italy as part of its expansion. UniCredit acted as the Sole Global Coordinator & Bookrunner. Matrix received legal, technical, and market advice from Greenhorse, Legance, Fitchner, and Baringa.
