LONGi, a solar technology company headquartered in China, has signed a knowledge transfer agreement with OCADE S.A.S., a Colombian waste management firm. According to LONGi, the agreement will provide technical training and information to support the recycling of decommissioned PV modules. OCADE manages hazardous waste and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in Colombia. As per OCADE, the partnership will enhance its capabilities in solar waste handling as installations increase across the region. Both companies said that the initiative aligns with circular economy principles and responsible end-of-life solar management. The collaboration is expected to reduce energy waste and mitigate environmental impact caused by discarded solar components in Colombia and Latin America.
