Levanta Renewables, backed by Actis, secured the development of a solar and storage project in the Visayas under the Philippines’ Fourth Green Energy Auction (GEA-4). The 166 MW ground-mounted solar farm, spanning about 155 hectares, included a Battery Energy Storage System with a planned capacity of 175 MW (AC) and an estimated 43% capacity factor. The total investment was about PHP 5 billion. Once running, it was expected to help reduce the use of imported fuels and prevent over 200,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. The project also aimed to benefit host communities through ER 1-94 programs, create jobs, and support regional economic growth. It aligned with the Philippines’ goal of reaching a 35% renewable energy share by 2030.
