Jakson Group, a Noida-based energy solutions and solar manufacturing company, has begun an Rs 8,000 crore (~ $952 million) integrated solar facility in Maksi, Madhya Pradesh, after Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation for Phase 1 on Sunday. According to Jakson Group, the first phase includes Rs 2,000 crore(~ $238 million) investment for establishing 3 GW cell and 4 GW module production lines, which are expected to generate about 1,700 jobs. Jakson Group said that the wider plan involves 6 GW ingot, 6 GW wafer, 6 GW cell and 6 GW module capacity over the next three years, supporting nearly 4,000 employment opportunities. As per Mohan Yadav, the facility is positioned to strengthen skilled manufacturing in the state, while Jakson Group added that the project has aimed to advance domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.
