UK-based JaguarLandRover (JLR) has advanced its renewable energy rollout with major solar installations in the UK and China. A 26-hectare, 18 MW solar farm was opened at Gaydon in August 2025, supplying 31% of site demand and achieving a 52% biodiversity net gain. In Wolverhampton, the UK’s largest automotive rooftop array with 18,000 panels is due for completion in autumn 2025. The 10.7 MW system is expected to meet 40% of site needs. In China, CJLR’s 20 MW rooftop expansion became operational in May 2025 and has generated over 50% of monthly demand. At Halewood, a 10 MW solar car port installation is planned for 2026. JLR has already reduced operational emissions by 23.4% from FY19/20 levels and targets sourcing one-third of global energy from renewables by 2030.
