China based JA Solar and other 23 solar companies had jointly launched the Global Solar Sustainable Alliance at the UN Global Compact’s Inaugural Global Business Summit in Jakarta. The GSSA aligned with the UNGC Ten Principles and SDG’s, initiative outlines 9 actionable pathways across three pillars. The Just Transition pillar focuses on reducing pollution, conserving resources, cutting emissions, promoting circular economy practices and ensuring biodiversity protection through green sourcing. The People-Centric Development pillar promotes fair labor rights, inclusive workplaces, responsible sourcing, transparent supply chains and community-aligned solar project planning. The Governance Enhancement pillar aims to improve company management, keep business fair, share clear information and involve all partners through proper checks. JA Solar also introduced its new responsible supply chain strategy with the theme “Together Towards Tomorrow”, to promote multi-stakeholders along the industry's value chain to evolve towards a sustainable future.
