Lithuanian energy company, Ignitis Renewables has developed the 72.5 MW Stelpe solar farm II in Latvia’s Bauska municipality, which reached commercial operation. The 85-hectare site had 121,000 solar panels and cost about €54 million (~$ 63.71 million). The Stelpe project has included two sites with a total capacity of 145 MW, enough to power around 70,000 households. Earlier in 2025, Ignitis Renewables completed the 94 MW Varme solar farm and work continued on the 174 MW Tume solar farm. Altogether, these projects added more than 400 MW of capacity and expected to supply electricity to nearly 200,000 households in Latvia.
