ibvogt, a global renewable energy development firm, has hosted the inauguration of the Segovia Cluster in Spain. The cluster comprises four utility-scale solar plants with a total capacity of 513.1 MW. The Segovia Cluster includes Serbal (174 MW), Castaño (134 MW), Pato (110 MW), and Baobab (95.1 MW). All four plants are supported by long-term PPAs signed by Thermo Fisher, Corning, and Equinix. Spread across 666.5 hectares with 887,409 panels, the cluster produces 1,036.6 GWh of electricity each year, enough to power about 300,000 homes, and cuts over 480,000 tons of CO₂ annually. Construction involved more than 19 companies. The project has already added €6 million ($6.92 million) in taxes and will bring in about €1.3 million ($1.5 million) every year for 25 years. Samsung SDI Energy Malaysia and germany based ibvogt began construction on a 29.99 MW solar plant recently.
