Hosoda Holdings, a Japan-based company, has agreed to establish a solar cell manufacturing unit in Karnataka with Tong Thar Energy Solutions (TTES). The project was initially planned at INR 490 crore(~$55.05 million) but was later revised to INR 882 crore(~$ 99.12 million), nearly doubling the investment. Industries Minister M.B. Patil said the unit is expected to generate 500 jobs in the state. The agreement for the project was signed during the Global Investors Meet in February. During the Karnataka delegation’s visit to Japan, more companies confirmed projects. Inabata said it will open a unit in Karnataka by 2027. Tetsujikawa also planned to expand its manufacturing operations.The delegation included senior state officials and Minister Patil.
