US-based HNI Corporation, A manufacturer of workplace furnishings and residential building products, has launched a new solar installation. The project is located at its Highway 61 facility in Muscatine, Iowa. The project is the company’s largest solar array to date. It is expected to generate over 1,500 MWh of electricity each year. This will cover around 7 percent of the facility’s annual electricity supply. The solar array is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support energy transition efforts. The project supports greater use of renewable energy at the site. It forms part of HNI’s broader energy efficiency and carbon reduction plans.
