Headwater Energy, a utility-scale solar and energy storage developer based in Charleston, South Carolina, has secured $144 million in construction financing for its 112.5 MW (DC) Gum Swamp Solar project in North Carolina. The loan was arranged by BridgePeak Energy Capital and funded partly by Pathward, N.A., through a lender syndicate. The project, expected to supply power for about 17,000 homes annually, will expand Headwater’s Independent Power Producer portfolio in the Southeast. BridgePeak acted as lender service provider under Pathward’s energy lending program, supporting BridgePeak’s broader plan to facilitate over $2 billion in energy project financing in 2025.
