GreenYellow and Volailles et Traditions, a subsidiary of the Inicia group, have developed a 1.5 MW solar plant in Mauritius under the Carbon Neutral Industry Scheme (CNIS). The project is expected to supply about 2.45 GWh of power annually to the national grid, meeting the electricity needs of around 1,050 people. GreenYellow handled the project’s design, financing, construction, and operation, while Volailles et Traditions focused on its agri-food business. The project supported Mauritius’ efforts to use more local clean energy and rely less on imported fuels. With help from the CNIS program, it also encouraged private investment in renewables and improved the island’s energy system.
