Gentari and UltraTech Cement have commissioned India’s first on-site hybrid RTC renewable energy project at Sewagram Cement Works in Gujarat. The 7.5 MW facility has combined solar, wind and battery storage in a single co-located system. It was developed to meet UltraTech’s requirement for reliable, uninterrupted clean energy at its cement manufacturing unit. The project is designed with bifacial solar modules on trackers, integrated with wind and storage for balanced performance. It is a first-of-its-kind model for industrial operations in India, showing how renewable energy can replace conventional baseload power. It is also aligned with the company’s regional strategy to expand firm renewable power across Asia Pacific.
