Local horticulture and urban park, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore has completed a solar expansion with EDP Renewables Apac. The project added over 1,700 panels, delivering a capacity of 1.08 megawatts. Installations were carried out across the Supertree Grove, Canopy, and Bayfront Pavilion. The system is designed to supply part of the park’s operational energy needs. EDP Renewables Apac executed the project under a power purchase agreement with the park. Specialized designs were required for Supertrees due to their irregular surfaces and shapes. The installation process considered plant life, safety, and architectural integrity. Efforts were also made to balance aesthetic requirements with technical demands. The project has maximized energy generation in land-constrained spaces. It is part of Gardens by the Bay’s strategy to strengthen renewable energy adoption.
