Singapore-headquartered Gstar Solar, a global provider in clean energy solutions, has shipped the first batch of core equipment for its new photovoltaic manufacturing facility in Cikarang, Indonesia. The shipment included monocrystalline growth furnaces using the Czochralski method and automated control systems, marking the start of the key equipment installation phase. The facility is designed to produce 3 GW of monocrystalline silicon rods and 3 GW of silicon wafers annually. A total of 120 furnaces and related machinery will be installed in stages. The plant will use digital manufacturing systems to produce large-size wafers (182 mm and 210 mm). Located in the GIIC industrial zone, the site benefits from strong supply chain access. Trial production is expected to begin in May 2025, with over 500 new jobs to be created.
