Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) Australia, a Sydney renewable energy developer and subsidiary of Jameel Energy and the Canadian infrastructure fund OMERS, said that it is actively developing the 210 MW DC Rangitikei solar project in New Zealand's North Island. The project, which was purchased from FRV Australia's previous joint venture with Genesis Energy, covers around 450 hectares in the Rangitikei District. The solar farm will produce approximately 350,000 MWh of electricity a year, powering almost 45,000 households and avoiding approximately 35,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, FRV Australia said. Construction will involve an average of 75 people and a maximum of 250 over 24 months, according to the company, with scope for future battery energy storage system integration. FRV Australia CEO Carlo Frigerio further stated that the project supports the company's continued push to increase clean energy capacity throughout Aotearoa
