First Solar, a US-based manufacturer of thin-film PV modules, has reported $1.1 billion in revenue for Q2 2025, which was driven by increased third-party module sales. Net income was $342 million, and earnings per diluted share rose to $3.18 from $1.95 in Q1 2025. First Solar said that it sold 3.6 GW of modules during the quarter, raising year-to-date sales volume to 9.9 GW, while total production reached 4.2 GW. The company has revised its full-year shipment guidance to 16.7–19.3 GW and updated financial projections, including higher revenue, gross margin, and net cash balance. In July, First Solar booked 2.1 GW in new orders, increasing its total backlog to 64.0 GW. The company also secured $296 million in cash proceeds by selling $312 million worth of Section 45X tax credits.
