Ferrovial, a company from Spain, is building three solar plants for TotalEnergies and Soltec in Murcia. The plants will produce 116 MW of electricity for 30,500 homes. Construction is expected to finish by late 2026.TheLuminora Solar Tres plant is planned to provide 95 MW with 150,000 bifacial solar panels. It includes a substation and a 5-kilometer overhead line. Fuente Álamo I and II will add 21 MW with 33,000 panels and an 8-kilometer line. Together, the plants are expected to avoid 4,500 tons of CO₂ annually. Ferrovial will operate the plants for two years. The project includes weather stations, advanced monitoring, security systems, and grid connection infrastructure.Prior to this project in Murcia, Ferrovial had already taken steps in the US market with a 257 MWdc solar acquisition in Texas.
