US-headquartered Equity Solar Illinois announced the completion of the Ducks Solar project, the first community solar installation with a battery energy storage system in ComEd’s service area. Located in the City of Oregon, Illinois, the project was designed to generate power for about 1,375 homes each year. The integrated storage system enabled the site to supply electricity after sunset, ensuring more consistent energy delivery. The opening event was attended by ESI Principals Rena Henderson Mason, Marcellus H. Moore Jr., and Shawn P. Mobley, along with representatives from ComEd, US Solar, Eneon-ES, and the City of Oregon.
