UK-headquartered Enviromena officially launched the 71 MWp Medebridge Solar Farm in Essex near South Ockendon. The event was attended by partners including The University of Manchester, EDF, and Inspired PLC.The project began generating electricity on 1 September 2025 under a 10-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with The University of Manchester, supplying about 65 % of the university’s electricity needs and cutting 12,000 tons of CO₂ annually. In its first month, the site produced over 7,000 MWh of electricity, with an annual output expected at 72,500 MWh. Enviromena, which manages 400 MWp of assets and has 3 GW in development, will oversee the site’s operations, maintenance, and biodiversity measures, including hedgerow and wildflower enhancements.
