GecamaIsrael-based RE developer, Enlight Renewable Energy has secured $310 million to expand its Gecama wind facility in Spain. The project will add 225 MW of solar and 220 MWh of battery storage, creating a 554 MW hybrid complex. The new components are expected to become operational by late 2026. The battery system will support peak shifting and provide frequency response to the grid. Around $150 million from the financing will be used for construction of the solar and storage units. The project operates without a long-term power purchase agreement, with electricity to be sold on the open market. Once fully operational, the facility is projected to generate annual revenues between $95 million and $105 million.
