France-based ENGIE Green, a wind and solar energy developer, and Free officially inauguration the 25.56 MW Ferme de Magné solar farm in Charente-Maritime, France. The project was developed under a 15-year PPA signed in February 2024 and is now starting electricity generation. It has 44,460 panels and will generate over 34.5 GWh per year, helping to avoid 8,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. The solar farm is located within the Ferme de Magné park and involves local workers from the ESAT facility in its maintenance. It is also used for environmental education. The project included biodiversity protections and archaeological digs, and it is the second PPA between ENGIE and the iliad Group in France.
