Enery, Vienna-based renewable energy company, has commissioned one of Styria’s largest photovoltaic plants in Dobl-Zwaring in partnership with Energie Steiermark. The 20.94 MW solar park is covered 20 hectares and included 29,448 modules, delivering about 26.3 GWh of power yearly for 5,450 households while cutting 2,100 tons of COâ‚‚ emissions. Built within ten months, it involved 24,000 man-hours and several regional contractors. The fixed, south-facing design was optimized for energy yield, with some modules re-angled to reduce glare near the A2 highway. Plans for a battery storage system were under review. Energie Steiermark announced a EUR 5.5 billion renewable investment program targeting 300 MW of solar capacity. The project included a local participation model for residents, biodiversity measures such as hedges, meadows, and wildlife corridors, and eco-grazing by 120 sheep for site maintenance.
