Hamburg-based solar park developer and operator, ENERPARC has inaugurated the Eggebek solar cluster in Schleswig-Holstein, with 80 MW already operational. The facility was built on a former NATO airfield since 2021 with the site spans 70 hectares. A 17 MW extension is under construction. The area was cleared of old munitions before development. Power is fed into both public and private grids. 4.5 MW is supplied directly to GPC Gewerbepark Carstensen GmbH for local businesses. The rest flows into the grid via an ENERPARC-built substation. Over 21,000 households are currently supplied, with 5,000 more to be added. A 600-kWh battery system stores night-time power using second-life EV batteries. Sheep graze between rows for land maintenance. ENERPARC has 530 MW connected to Schleswig-Holstein Netz’s 12,500 MW renewable grid.Prior to this, Enerparc secured €100 million in funding with Sicore to develop 800 MW of solar capacity throughout Germany.
