Elements Green Trent Limited, a UK-based subsidiary of Elements Greenhas proposed the Great North Road Solar and Biodiversity Park northwest of Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.The project is an 800 MW solar and battery storage facility, planned to power about 400,000 homes. Since it is classed as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, the Secretary of State will make the final decision. The plans also involve planting 60,000 trees, developing 800 acres of biodiversity areas and adding 50 km of new hedgerows. It has also proposed 21 permissive footpaths, 6 bridleways, and a 50 km recreational route. Sheep grazing, biodiversity net gains, and a GBP 1 million annual community fund were also part of the plans.
