EDP Renewables has inaugrated the 10 MW Monti di Eboli solar park in Salerno, Italy. The plant generates over 17 GWh of electricity each year, enough to power around 6,500 homes and cut more than 7,200 tons of COâ‚‚ emissions annually. It is the company’s first project in Europe that combines solar power generation with livestock farming. Around 250 sheep graze across the site, combining renewable energy generation with agricultural use. The project has demonstrated how solar development can coexist with rural livelihoods, offering an example of integrated land management within Europe’s growing renewable energy landscape.
