EDP, a Portugal-headquartered utility that develops global renewable and power assets, has inaugurated its first renewable energy project in Germany through EDP Renewables in collaboration with Kronos Solar EDPR, which is a Germany-based solar developer. The companies said the 87 MWp Ketzin solar plant in Brandenburg is generating over 91 GWh annually and avoiding nearly 75,000 tons of COâ‚‚ while supplying power for a major technology company operating in Germany. According to EDP, the commissioning marked a strategic milestone that has combined its international project-delivery experience with Kronos Solar EDPR’s local capabilities to strengthen design and accelerate permitting. EDP added that the approach has aligned advanced technical and financial standards intended to improve project efficiency and support reliable grid integration across the region.
