Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEWRE) has shortlisted bidders for the 500 MW Al Dibdibah Power and Al Shagaya Renewable Energy Phase III Zone 2 Solar PV project. The project is located in Jahra Governorate, about 100 km west of Kuwait City and aims to supply power to Kuwait’s national grid. The selected consortiums were led by EDF Renouvelables, Jinko Power, Tianjin Zhonghuan New Energy, Acwa Power and Masdar. TotalEnergies Renewables and Turkish firms LimakYatirim Enerji and Kalyon Enerji applied independently. The project, has supported by a 30-year Power Purchase Agreement with MEWRE, required the winning bidder to design, finance, build, operate, and maintain the plant. EY served as financial advisor, DLA Piper as legal advisor, and DNV as technical and environmental advisor.
