UAE-based Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has added 800 MW of clean energy in 2025 through the sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The park’s total capacity has reached 3.86 GW, using photovoltaic (PV) solar panels and concentrated solar power (CSP). Clean energy accounted for 21.5% of DEWA’s total production. DEWA has invited international developers for the seventh phase, planned at 1.6 GW, expanding to 2 GW. This phase included PV solar panels and a battery energy storage system with 1 GW capacity for six hours, totaling 6,000 megawatt-hours (MWh), making it one of the largest solar-plus-storage projects. The fourth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park set a world record with its 700 MW CSP installation, further boosting DEWA’s clean energy expansion.
