DTEK, a Ukraine-based energy company, and Octopus Energy Group, a UK-based energy technology firm, have launched the €100 million (~ $116 million) RISE (Resilient Independent Solar Energy) initiative to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience. The program is set to install rooftop solar and BESS systems on 100 commercial and public sector buildings over the next three years. According to DTEK, the systems will be delivered by D.Solutions under the YASNO brand and integrated with Octopus Energy’s AI-powered Kraken operating system. This setup will allow users to manage consumption, shift usage from peak hours, and sell excess electricity to the grid. As per DTEK, Ukraine’s behind-the-meter solar market for C&I users is estimated at 300MW annually, with YASNO already serving over 60,000 clients. Earlier this year, Octopus Energy and PRIM also launched the OEPA fund with $60 million to support clean energy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
