DPS Resources Bhd, Kuala Lumpur-based infrastructure and energy services company, has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary DPS Energy Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding with VCI Energy Sdn Bhd. The MoU is to jointly develop utility-scale solar projects in Melaka with planned capacity of up to 250 MW. According to DPS Resources, the proposed developments have covered sites in Mukim Lipat Kajang, Mukim Bukit Apit II, and Mukim Sungai Siput. The facility involves about 242.81 hectares under a proposed 23-year lease tenure, subject to definitive agreements and approvals. VCI Energy, managed by VCI Global Ltd, has been designated to support project development activities. As per DPS Resources, the projects have included grid studies, due diligence, and financing discussions. The planned facilities have been positioned to support long-term power purchase arrangements and integrated energy infrastructure use.
