DNV, a global assurance and risk management company headquartered in Høvik, supported Atlas Renewable Energy as market advisor to secure USD 475 million for the Copiapó hybrid solar and storage project in Chile. The project combined 357 MWp of solar capacity with a 320 MW / 1.28 GWh battery system in the Atacama Region. It was planned to supply 750 GWh per year to CAP Group subsidiaries under two 15-year PPAs. DNV assessed the market outlook, contract terms, and battery revenue structure to assist lender evaluation. The transaction added to more than USD 1.2 billion in financings closed by Atlas in Chile over 13 months. Atlas operated several solar and storage facilities, including Javiera, Quilapilún, Sol del Desierto, and BESS del Desierto. Copiapó aligned with Chile’s broader renewable energy expansion.
