Citibim Nigeria Ltd, a mobile solar solution, has presented a mobile solar project to the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN). The solution includes Mobile Solar Generators and Rentable Energy Capsules for peer-to-peer micro-grid access. It is designed to serve rural homes, schools, clinics, and SMEs using pay-as-you-go models. The technology was developed with Sleekabyte Technologies UK Ltd and funded by Ze-Gen via Innovate UK. The project follows a local-first model focused on domestic assembly, job creation, and component testing. Citibim has sought ECN’s support for pilot deployment and national validation. The meeting also explored alignment with Nigeria’s Minimum Performance Standards for safety and efficiency. ECN has granted access to its research centres for testing and verification. The collaboration is part of efforts to expand clean energy access and strengthen local solar capacity in Nigeria.
