Celsia, Grupo Argos’ energy company based in Medellín, has advanced a major renewable strategy in Peru. The company has created an investment vehicle targeting over USD 1.2 billion to develop wind and solar projects expected to reach 1.2 GW capacity by 2028. As part of this initiative, Celsia launched Celaris Energy, a new platform providing Peruvian businesses with 100% renewable energy through tailored services and IREC certification. The platform is supported by local expertise and backed by Celsia’s asset management. The 218 MW Caravelí wind farm in Arequipa is under construction and will start operating in 2026, generating over 600 GWh each year. Celaris Energy also uses the 20 MW Manta Hydroelectric Plant in Ancash to add to its renewable portfolio.
