Bord Gáis Energy, one of Ireland’s energy suppliers, has signed long-term PPAs for over 629 MW of solar and wind projects. The deals involve Highfield Energy, BNRG, ILOS Energy, Power Capital, Encavis, and Tullynamoyle 5 under Ireland’s Renewable Electricity Support Scheme.The agreements have doubled its renewable energy portfolio and positioned it as the largest solar offtaker in the scheme. Nearly 1 TWh of electricity is expected annually, enough to power around 250,000 homes. Several projects are already live, with others due in 2026 and 2028. The company also operates a 445 MW gas plant in Cork and is developing three 100 MW peaker plants in Dublin, Athlone, and Galway to support renewable integration and grid stability.
