India-based Blueleaf Energy and Jakson Green have achieved financial close for their 840 MW Bikaner Solar Projects in Rajasthan, India. The projects, comprising of 280 MW and 560 MW plants, formed part of the partners’ 1 GW Rajasthan Solar Portfolio and secured financing from Axis Bank. Both projects had 25-year Power Purchase Agreements with SECI and NHPC Limited. With this milestone, funding for the full portfolio was completed. Construction was set to begin, following the Bhawad 140 MW project already under development. Once operational, the Bikaner projects were expected to supply electricity to about 1.5 million households annually and offset 34 million tons of CO₂ over 25 years.
