Blattner, a US-based solar construction contractor and subsidiary of Quanta Services, has signed a three-year agreement with Built Robotics. The agreement has included the deployment of dozens of robots for piling, surveying, drilling, trenching, and material handling tasks. Built Robotics, headquartered in San Francisco, is a developer of AI-powered construction robots designed to automate complex solar project workflows. Built Robotics has stated that its eight-layer safety system, featuring AI personnel detection and geofencing, has reported zero robot-related injuries to date. Built Robotics has also confirmed that its robots were previously deployed on five Blattner projects, where they improved schedules while maintaining quality. Executives from both companies have have stated that removing crews out of high-risk piling activity is critical to making safety better and predictable execution possible. The deal was announced on September 9, 2025, when Built Robotics was showcasing automation applications at RE+ 2025 in Las Vegas.
