Banco Sabadell, Spain’s banking groups, headquartered in Sabadell, has granted $15 million financing to three Balam subsidiaries in Mexico. The funds are for debt repayment and operational expenses of photovoltaic projects. These projects are in Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí, and Durango. The financing includes the usual guarantees for such transactions. Balam is a private equity fund manager focused on renewable energy. Its portfolio includes solar, wind, mini-hydro, cogeneration, and energy efficiency projects. It manages around $230 million through Balam Fund I, L.P. and BalamCK16. Cuatrecasasadvised Banco Sabadell on the transaction. The legal team was led by León López. Other team members were from finance, corporate, and energy practices. The advisory covered legal, corporate, and energy-related aspects of the deal.
