UK-based Aura Power, a global developer of renewable energy projects, has recieved approval to build the 49.9MW Moreton Brook Solar Farm in East Staffordshire. The local council agreed to the project in March 2025. Final permission was given after a legal agreement was signed. The construction is planned to start early spring 2027.The solar farm plans to connect to the grid by September 2027. It could power 11,500 homes each year. It may also cut 12,000 tons of CO₂ annually. It is designed to deliver over 100% biodiversity net gain. Enhancements include species-rich grasslands, wildflower meadows, bird nesting plots and native planting. Moreton Brook is part of Aura Power’s 0.6 GW ready-to-build portfolio. The company has three other projects under construction. A £20,000 yearly community fund is also planned for local support.
